Ohne euch gäbe es kein Open Ship – eigentlich gar kein Event. Ihr seid es, die mit Forschung, Technik, Daten, Organisation und einer großen Portion Know-how zeigen, was GEOMAR eigentlich macht und warum unsere Arbeit wichtig ist.
Am 26. Juni 2026 von 10 – 17 Uhr öffnen wir am Westufer (Anlegeplatz ALKOR – gegenüber vom Aquarium) unsere Türen für die Öffentlichkeit. Besucher:innen können hinter die Kulissen schauen, Fragen stellen, staunen, ausprobieren und zuhören – und erleben, wie spannend und vielfältig Ozeanforschung bei uns ist.
Das Programm zum Open Ship zur Kieler Woche findet ihr hier, sobald eure Anmeldungen eingegangen sind und verarbeitet wurden.
Für organisatorische Fragen haben wir außerdem eine FAQ-Seite eingerichtet, die laufend ergänzt wird.
Neu in diesem Jahr
Die gesamte Anmeldung und Organisation läuft erstmals über Indico. Damit möchten wir die Zahl der E-Mails deutlich reduzieren und euch gleichzeitig ermöglichen, eure Angaben selbstständig zu verwalten und bei Bedarf anzupassen.
Bitte füllt das Formular möglichst sorgfältig aus – euer Zukunfts-Ich und das Orga-Team werden es euch danken.
Wichtig: Letzte Chance für Änderungen ist der 10. Juni 2026. Sollte es danach noch Änderungswünsche geben, müsst ihr diese bitte direkt mit uns abstimmen.

Without you, there would be no Open Ship – in fact, there would be no event at all. It is you who, with your research, technology, data, organization, and a great deal of expertise, show what GEOMAR actually does and why our work is important.
On June 26, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., we will open our doors to the public on the west bank (ALKOR mooring – opposite the aquarium). Visitors can take a look behind the scenes, ask questions, learn, try things out, and listen – and experience how exciting and diverse ocean research really is.
The program for the Open Ship during Kiel Week will be available here as soon as your registrations have been received and processed.
We have also set up an FAQ page for organizational questions, which will be updated regularly.
New this year
For the first time, the entire registration and organization process will be handled by Indico. This will allow us to significantly reduce the number of emails while enabling you to manage your information independently and make adjustments as needed.
Please fill out the form as carefully as possible – your future self and the organization team will thank you for it.
Important: The last chance to make changes is June 10, 2026.
If you have any change requests after that date, please coordinate them directly with us.
