Time effort for mentors:
- 1.5h introductory workshop
- 1h speed-dating event
- four 1h mentoring meetings between mentors and mentees
- 1h support session with external trainer on request
What is it about?
The mentoring program is aimed at postdocs and associated scientists who want to support and mentor younger colleagues, as well as doctoral researchers who are looking for a mentor.
As a mentor, you will have the opportunity to support and inspire the next generation of scientists by sharing your knowledge and experience. For mentees, this is a fantastic opportunity to receive valuable guidance and support on their academic journey.
If you are interested in participating as a mentor or mentee, please register for the relevant introductory workshop on September 28, 2026 with Dr. Steve Hutchinson. If you do not have time on the day, but would still like to participate in the Buddy Program, please indicate this in your registration. It is also possible to take part in the workshops only and find out about mentoring in general.
September 28, 2026: Buddy Day – Introductory day for all participants

09:30 - 11:00: Introductory workshop for mentors with Dr. Steve Hutchinson
11:15 - 12:15: Introductory workshop for mentees with Dr. Steve Hutchinson
12:30 - 13:30: Speed dating for matching of mentor-mentee pairs

13.01.2027, 11:00 – 12:00: Exchange session for mentees (group reflection and exchange)
tba: Support sessions for mentors with Dr. Steve Hutchinson
tba: Buddy Program Closing Lunch (joint closing event of the program)
