Workshop "How to pitch your poster"

Objective
This course is designed specifically for those presenting posters at the evaluation. By the end of the training, you will have developed a compelling pitch from scratch, practiced delivering it, and received valuable feedback to refine your presentation.
To make the most of this workshop, please bring the latest version of your poster (preferably in a small format) along with a pen and paper for notes.
What to expect
9:00 – 12:30 | Building a Strong Poster Pitch
We begin by exploring the key components and structure of a compelling poster pitch:
- What makes a great pitch?
- What is my core message?
- How can I refine and structure it to fit the format effectively?
Participants will work individually on their pitch, followed by a feedback loop in small groups focusing on content, clarity, and timing. We will wrap up the morning with inspiring examples, an interactive Q&A session, and useful insights for delivering a confident presentation.
12:30 – 13:45 | Lunch Break & Refinement
Take a break and use the time to refine your pitch based on feedback and new ideas. The trainer will be available again from 13:15 for any questions or additional guidance.
13:45 – 14:45 | Final Pitch Round & Group Feedback
Participants will present their revised pitches, receiving constructive feedback from the entire group. To make the practice as realistic as possible, you will stand next to your poster and focus on both delivery and body language.
15:00 – 16:00 | Additional Practice (only if needed)
If the group exceeds 20 participants, we will split the afternoon session to ensure everyone gets the opportunity to present and receive meaningful feedback. Let us know your preferred time slot if this applies.
