The FYORD Summer School on “Diving Into Change: Exploring Interdisciplinary Marine Science Perspectives in Our Changing Oceans” aims to explore the interconnected physical, biological and chemical changes occurring in our oceans as a result of ongoing anthropogenic activities.
Participants will have the opportunity to investigate the impacts of natural events and human activities on our ocean systems, current research on mitigating harmful effects and how marine and environmental policies and laws can be used to control, reduce or eliminate the key drivers of change. The summer school offers a diverse range of activities such as lectures, discussions, practical exercises, excursions, and networking events. Its objective is to broaden participants' knowledge base of ocean change research by providing different frames of reference to reflect on their own research topics, from the perspectives of four core themes:
- Marine Biology,
- Marine Biogeochemistry and Carbon Cycling,
- The Ocean Floor and its Resources, and
- Physical Oceanography.
