This high-level event will be an occasion for national and international stakeholders from policy, science and industry to take stock of innovations in European ocean observing and forecasting and address the challenges that lie ahead. Reflecting on the achievements from recent years, recommendations for achieving a sustainable ocean observing and forecasting system that delivers accessible, timely, and actionable data and information to all ocean users will be presented and discussed. In addition, the symposium will provide space and time for exchanges and networking.

This event follows the invitation-only EuroSea General Assembly on 19-20 September which will conclude the EU project 'EuroSea - Improving and Integrating European Ocean Observing and Forecasting for sustainable use of the Oceans', which started in November 2019 and will finish in December 2023.
