The Workshop

Solving the multiple crises our world requires qualified science-based decision-making on every level of governance. Thus, being informed about different action options, risks, and benefits becomes a primary condition for successful long-term decision-making. In this complex environment, clear communication of science is more crucial than ever. That is why scientists interested in or already participating in political consultations, bodies, or working groups need to be well-prepared for any science-policy interaction.

What this preparation involves and which basic communication skills you need are the focus topics of the Science-Policy Communication Workshop for PostDocs, run on Monday, March 27, from 9:00 to 15:30 at the GEOMAR. Learn and practice with a small group of colleagues in a creative and safe environment.

The workshop will be led by Sina Löschke, communications manager of IPCC Working Group II and communication consultant for CDRmare. She will be supported by Ulrike Bernitt, knowledge transfer officer at GEOMAR.
