Participants will explore the main building, gaining exclusive access to the seawater supply system, which pumps fresh Baltic Sea water into the laboratories continuously. In the Seagoing Technologies area, visitors will learn how global expeditions are equipped and how specialised instruments are developed, built and maintained before being deployed in the depths of the ocean. The tour also includes the Core Repository, where visitors will discover how metre-long sediment cores are collected from the seafloor and what information they can provide about climate history.
